Software updates:

-For RDX: New model, with a navigation system that includes the Real Time Traffic and Zagat Survey.

-For TSX This navigation system utilizes the Hands Free Link (cell phone) to call Points of Interests, and personal address phone numbers.

-For MDX, RL, TL Free flow traffic is now shown as green bands alongside the road, and traffic incidents can be listed either by a voice command or using the "map menu".

-For MDX, RL, TL, Ridgeline Navigation support added for rear camera accessory.

-For TL Touch screen (no interface dial). MP3/WMA controllable by navi voice system

-For MDX Includes interface dial. MP3/WMA music files can be played from both CD and DVD media

Since these discs *just* got released, if you are in the market for a new '07 TL/TL-S make sure you negotiate into the deal a new navi disc paid for by the dealer. Chances are those vehicles shipped with last year's navi disc (just pop out the disc and look at it--v4.31 means it's the old one).

For those that don't know, these updates can only be ordered from www.acuranavi.com and cost $185 + tax/shipping, so they aren't cheap.

If this is just a DVD, can't I buy one and then burn it for the rest of the community for a small fee? Say $50 per person shipped?

this would be piracy, which is a federal offense.

if you wanted to make backup copies for your own personal use, you can, however, if there is a encryption track on the dvd the use of the software to bypass the encryption is illegal.

there are many ways to give free copies away, i'm just not gonna say how here on this forum.

Just got and installed the new white disc (for '07 TLs) in my '05 MDX today. Here's the version info:

v4.31C (old):
-Database: 20050428 (04/28/05)
-Software: 1.32.00

v4.55A (new):
-Database: 20060502 (05/02/06)
-Software: 1.57.00

How often do these come out? I am building a new house in Salt Lake City in the first phase of the subdivision and know my street won't be listed - no big deal, but there is major retail construction in the area that won't be listed - what is the delay on new stuff getting onto the DVD?

They release an update once a year, but they take information all year long. If you want to expedite your subdivision in appearing, go to http://update.navteq.com and notify them of the new street. They will verify it (assuming the surrounding area is already "Verified") and add it to the database.

Is it feasible to put a White disk into a 04 TL instead of the orange disk. I would really like to have the restaurant reviews.

No, you can only use like-colored discs in the same navi unit. A white disc will not work on your TL, and may mess up the system if it tries to update the software.
