Help! Had timing belt service, car sounds awful

I just had timing belt, drive belt, water pump, etc done on my 06 TL because I was at 110,000 miles and it was time. Now there's a nasty sound ...noticed it this morning while it was in the driveway warming up. It's idling loudly, but also a bit of a tapping sound. Then, when driving it, I heard a whining sound when slowing at a stop sign and again when turning from the stop sign.

I'm taking it back to the dealership today but would really love to have some idea in my mind about what it COULD be so I'll know if it sounds like they're full of crap.

Any ideas??

At this point, no. It could be about half a dozen different things, but I'd be jumping the gun on each and every one of them. They did the job, bring it back and let them sort it out......

Whining

Hey queen
Did you get an answer to the whining noise? My 05 TL is exhibiting the same symptoms. It appears to be the power steering in my case.I will be watching for the result of your "re-check".

Your power steering isn't timing belt related. More than likely, the O-ring described in the attached bulletin might have got disturbed when the job was being done.
