New to board. Thinking of getting TL-S
I have been looking at 07 and 08 TL-S types. What should I expect to pay for a low mile 07 or 08. Or even a new 08?
TIA |

I paid $36k OTD for a brand new 08 Type S. A family friend was able to get $35k OTD, and supposedly someone got $32k OTD (on another forum). All were new, all were Type S versions.
If you're going to buy used, haggle hard. With the new 09 coming, prices should come down a little bit, even as ugly as the new 09 is. ![]()

I just recently purchased my 07 Type S w/ 15K for 30K. I haggled hard and shopped around. Tuff to find a used 07 Type S...not a lot to choose from. I could of got one for 28K with more miles and not as clean.
I highly recommend a used Type S over a new one. I'm not sure the extra $ is worth it for a Type S. Otherwise, go for an 08 TL, you can definitely get a great deal one with 09's coming out.

I paid invoice for mine brand new back in early May of 2007, I tend to pick up the trader quite often in my area and I see CPO Type S cars going for lower 30's (31-33K for 07's) and just a tad bit more for 08's...... I would go for a very lightly used certified 08 unless you can get a dealer to go for well under invoice. I have a hard time believing these people that say they bought for $32K or even 35K out the door with tax, title and license..... not sure how other states work it but sales tax by me is 7 3/4 percent alone, that would be $2325 on only $30K???? I have a really hard time believing that Acura is having to come off of sticker over $8K to sell these cars...... you would have to be looking at a new full size SUV to even think about saving that kind of money off sticker. So I have to call BS on these "SUPER" deals.

Sweet 6.... I think that $36K out the door is a really nice deal, not sure what your tax or license rates are but that seem to be pretty darn good considering thats just over what invoice price is on the car.
As far as my out the door, Im not exactly sure since I dont have my paperwork in front of me (its actually at my office) .......my out the door really wont help since I traded my 06 in on it and got $27,xxx on trade for it so I only paid the tax on the difference between that and whatever approximately $100 over invoice was, I transfered plates as well. If I had bought it without trade this is approximately what my out the door would have been: (Im gonna round numbers since I dont have the exact figures in front of me). Car: $35800 Tax at 7.75%: $2775 Misc Lic/title: $200 Total: ~$38,775 which is in the range of sticker price out the door. Keep in mind that I bought over a year and a half ago when the market was obviously better as well as the Type-S being fairly new to the lineup...... I dont think the deals were quite as enticing as they are now. I know every state/county can have different tax, title and license rates so out the door from one area to another can vary drastically in terms of final price. If you buy the car I think you will be quite happy with it so........GO FOR IT ![]()

The $32k OTD number was one I had seen thrown around on AcuraZine.

I can't see $32K out the door either. Tax is $2500 or so. Sticker is $39K. So I can't see a dealer discounting a TL-S $9500. But more power to him if that is what he got.

Just got mine on 8/21/08 TL-S Silve/Taupe for 34,400 OTD in CA (10% lic and tax) with 5.9% for 60 mos. SO the car is like 31,500 before tax and license. Then I notice the FWD 09 TL is only 35K MSRP, maybe could get it for the same price? And the 09 has a bit better MPG.
I personally like the Exterior of TL-S but the TL interior dash light (blue) and aluminum trim around Transmission looks better. What dou you guys think? |

Keep your car. The new gen isn't such a huge leap forward (although, the AWD is a tempting idea). The 3rd gen (the one you bought) is a beautiful, classically designed vehicle that does everything well - including looking good.
