New 2009 (4th Gen) TL
I just received the June 08 Car and Driver...and on page 44 is a picture of the 2009 TL. Looks like a cross between the 09 TSX and the 09 RL. Same grille and all. Claims 300hp from a 3.7 V6...which is the same engine as the 09 RL, but no mention at all about the availablity of All Wheel Drive. Will start at $35K. My verdict is still out, but I think they could have done a bit better on the styling...but I need to actually see it in person when it goes on sale.

Good Lord! That thing is disgusting! I hope it's just a bad scan.
I won't be getting another TL any way as I really need an SUV of some sort, however, I hate to see such a classic style ruined. ![]()

I will wait until I see it in person or on the website before I say whether I like it or not, but it does look like it may take some getting used to because in comparison the 3rd gen TL's are sweet. But we'll see. Thanks for the pic.

I've had my TL now for nearly 5 years and I've only found one major flaw with the car...FWD.

Hell no, the 04 TL turned Acura around. Before that the success of the Legend was a distant memory and they were churning out some pretty dull cars that were not selling well. Acura doesn't exactly have to hit a homerun again the other models other then the RL are selling well. I think this is part of the problem though. Acura knowing that they don't have to hit a homerun is causing them to be pretty damn conservative now, IMO. Looks like a supersized Accord/TSX with TL headlights.

If that is what 09 TL looks like...all I can say is that I'm glad I purchased the 08 TL-S. But this is all based on the picture provided and assuming no changes will be made to the vehicle. Thanks for the pix...it makes me feel better about my purchase on Friday...phew...at least until the official 09 TL is rolled out.
