Lightbulb Official Rattle Thread

I am starting to hear the sound quite frequently now.

I think it's my center brake light but I'm not sure. I am planning to have the dealer look at it when I take the car in for an oil change next month.

I did, but the dealer took care of it.

I still get rattles from the bass, though.

Mine is more pronounced on bumpy or rough roads. Seems like the smallest of bumps makes a tapping/rattle noise.

Yeah... it was very subtle. I would only hear it when the music was off or low. I have one in my dash or center console now... but it's so faint that nobody else has been able to really hear it, and it's fainter than the rattling of my cell phone in the cupholder, so I haven't bothered getting it fixed...

My front headliner is starting to rattle again... annoying.

I get a lot of rattles to. But I put it out as just everyday junk in my car that causes it. Im going to have t take everything out and take it for a drive. So much crap....

My front headliner also came loose. But when i told my dealer that i thought it might be the little velcro tape, they said, "no, there are actually two clips, one on each side". That was about 2 months ago. I dont have any more problems with it at all now. Seems even sturdier now than before.

I also get some rattles when my Sunroof shade is open. But if I close it seems to make the car sound a lot more solid????

I don't seem to have any issues with the headliner (knock on wood). And, I did have the sunroof rattle (with shape open) on my '01 CL-S, but the '04 seems quiet to me...and even quieter when closed.

I usually don't carry much in my car for long periods of time, so I know that my rattles are definitely from the car itself. No biggie (at this point), that's what a warranty is for.

Well, 2nd generation TL makes a lot of noise here and there. I wished new TL dosen't 'cuz the interior now is look and feel a lot better than previous one.

But I guess not after hearing you guys.

I've never ride Lexus before. Most saying it is the most quiet car you can get. Is this true? Not even little squeak?

Last night I got in the backseat and just pressed down on the rear deck (where the speakers are located) and pressed up on the center brake light a few times to see if that would stop some of the rattling/tapping. On my way to work this morning, the car was a quiet as can be. I hope the "fix" is long lasting.

I've tried that too and it fixes it temporarily, but invariably, it comes back.

AND,
Lexus' do have their share of squeeks and rattles... even on their flagship LS430. One thing that Lexus and Acura share, that Infiniti lacks, is that "solid" feel to the interior.

UPDATE:

I took the car in today for an oil change and had them also try to fix the rattling/tapping sound coming from the rear deck and/or center brake light. Well, I'm happy to say that the noise is gone (hopefully forever). Here is what they did, according to the invoice receipt...

My TL has started developing little rattles as well. They seem to come from the sun visors or the ceiling lighting/sunroof controls. It's noticable on bumpy roads but still a hint of it even over
minor pavement breaks. Pushing up on the sun visor while in the up position just makes it go away temporarily .. something for them to look at the next oil change.

When I asked about trading in my 01 CL Type S, my advisor told me the new TL's are rattle boxes......of course no one here wants to admit it, but now I'm seeing all these postings of "rattles" ! Glad I got the RL-Japan solid !
