I've had the same issue and it is somewhat common, even in the TSXes I've used as loaner cars. What I usually do is run the a/c on recirc for a bit till the smell clears.

FYI... I HAVE replaced my interior air filter.

This was an issue in our cars. It would smell like sulphur. Some have said something about our exhaust. I honestly dont know too much. I heard it is more noticeable in warmer climates.

I smell it. Its terrible. I rarely run my AC because I do most of my driving early in the morning or later in the evening. I only get that smell if the car sit for more than 1 day. I can kinda live with it but its embarrassing when other people get in the car and it smells.

rotten eggs... that seems like a sulphur smell. look at your exhaust pipes. are they decently clean or are they very black and sooty. your car might be running rich (engine is not burning off all the fuel that the injectors throw at it).

I think i saw an artical saying that with long highway mile i will help the crap smell from occuring. I dont want to just put more miles on my car just to get the smell from occuring. I wish acura would have a quick fix for this issue. 35k for a smelly car with cheap dash boards is BS.

should of gotten the G35 heheheh JK

Could it be mold in the vents? I know this is an issue with my Ford Escape. Condensation forms inside the vents and mold grows. I've had it fixed once already. Since then, I've learned of a TSB that gives a fix. The TSB has the technician install a drain valve to help get rid of the standing water in the vents.

Hope this helps.

I had never heard of this issue until 2 weeks ago. I had a '04 TL owner approach me when I was getting into my car. He wanted to know if I had this problem with smelling sulphur. He felt it occurred after he had driven the car pretty hard. The dealership mechanics smelled it too and they still haven't found a fix...They were going to try replacing the catalytic converter I think.

This is a different issue. The sulfer smell is from the catalytic converter, the moldy smell is from the environmental system.

I've talked with several TL owners who all have the same problem - sulpher smell from the car after driving it a bit hard. Happens especially when using the manual shift mode, but probably because the car is pushed harder when I use that. We've all tried several things, including gas source, gas additives, talking with the dealership - no solution. I still have the problem, and have just turned 50K miles.

I spoke with my dealership service rep today and he said that the problem with the a/c smelling will usually occur if you shut off the car after using recirc for a while. To keep the smell out, try to avoid using recirc all the time and when you do use it, be sure to switch back to fresh air at least 1-2 minutes before turning the car off. He said that the fresh air will dry the cooling pad out faster...whatever that means. Apparently, the cooling pad is what retains the condensation and ends up smelling after a while in the heat.

Also, he said there is no TSB on this issue.

Try the easy and cheap fix first if HVAC/vent smell: buy an evaporator cleaner (1Z Klima-cleaner or other) and spray through the evap hose. It kills germs and smell. This is worth a shot, even just to make sure the HVAC system is not the problem in your case.

Like $15 bucks and less than 30 minutes for whole process (mostly wait time) cheap and easy.
