"Tighten gas cap" message

The "Tighten Gas Cap" message keeps coming on in my 07 TL. I've taken the cap off and reinstalled it, tightened it from where it was, etc. The light comes on at random times, then goes off after I drive a while.

What's the fix?

Thanks.

IT is caused by a bad sensor. Replace it!

OK. Where is it? What is it called so I can order it.

Is it easy to do, or do I need to have it done?

Thanks.

Take a look as your fuel cap. Check or any cracks or breaks in the rubber gasket on the cap.

Only other thing I can think of is probably the evac system causing a pressure drop in the tank.

OK. How is that remedied? A trip to the dealer? Had it at the Honda dealer for something else and told them about it, but they didn't or couldn't address it.

Thanks.

It's really hard to say at the moment what exactly is the culprit. I'm just tossing ideas out.

Yup, I have had it happen to mine, I dont know about a bad sensor; but if I let someone else drive my car it happens. I always tighten the bajesus out of my gas cap, you need to here it click a lot, and it stops the problem from occurring.

If it maintains, than most likely it is a bad sensor, and tend to it as needed.
