acura kid would you happen to have detail pic on how to install the weather strips? I just found out that the tint shop put back my weather strip in wrong. They put the bottom as the top wipe.

maybe that what cause the moister in my car.

This guy is TOP. Went to check him out. Was busy tiniting a Maybach. Off the bat he explained that I would have to use felt.

what type of film are you after? a ceramic or metallized? a tinter may be good with thinner films but may not have enough experience to work with the thicker ceramic stuff.

I have a navi equipped car with 50% mirrored metallic tint. I have had no issues with acquiring a GPS signal. Cost me 250 to get the entire car tinted vs. 500 with ceramic.

I was just out in LA and went to a tint shop that does all the dealers cars and I had all the windows done with dark ceramic film for $225.00. Did OK on that one. Great job as well. No bubbles or dust underneath.

Looking for a place in San Diego that will do moleskin and one of the non-metallic films sine I have navi. Acura_Kid or anyone else have any suggestions? The 3 places I've called so far say that the moleskin is a waste of money and some tinters offer it to charge you more. But, after reading through this thread I don't hold that opinion very high. Looking for a good price also $300-375 perferred.

1. visit the Solargard website, they have a locator tool.
2. just give Tom @ The Art of Tint a call. he'll explain why or why not to use moleskin.

Hey everyone, getting a little frustrated here. I called some of the local tinters down here including the ones off of the Solargard website. I can actually hear the "Deer in the Headlights" look, when I ask if they install moleskin/felt. Some asked why they would want to do that. Anyway, I asked all the questions that AK posted previously on this thread and only one or two of the places could answer a couple of the questions with a yes. So, I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a tint shop in the Pensacola area. I'm even willing to drive to Mobile or Fort Walton Beach/Destin. Thanks for any help and thanks for this thread, I think it is keeping a few of us from wasteing our money on a cheap tint job.

Ok, found a place. They carry Formula One and they are going to do the rear window in Ceramic and the rest in Metallic for $199. They are going to do 30% all around. Anyone have pics of a 30% tinted car, just so I can have an idea? Anyway, the shop was able to answer all of the questions with a yes except for the one about the moleskin, which I've decided to just do on my own. AK, do you still have a good supply of the moleskin? If not where would be a good place to get some, what brand, and how much do I need? I can't wait to get this thing tinted, especially before summer. It's scheduled to get done on the 30th, so I'm going to try and knock out the moleskin before then.

i think your choices are perfect.
