ok, i saw some folks posting about water issues after installing moleskin, water on the inside of the glass after the window goes down and up, and after a wash or rain.
this may not be a moleskin issue at all. if your tinter was not very careful cutting your film (they cut it on the outside up against each piece of glass to make a good fit), s/he may have cut into the rubber seals that go around the window. its possible that the razor took off some of the seals along their edge, which will then make the rubber seal less of a seal, perhaps allowing water to leak in..... water gets down inside along the edge of the glass, hits the felt and then the felt gets all wet. i dunno if this is actually the case or not, but i did notice that my tinter did in fact take a sliver off of some of my rubber seals........... but i have not experienced the water issue as some have posted about..... food for thought...

Solargard is a Bekaert company, good stuff, i have the HP38. HP22 may interfere with your Navi (if you have Navi). it is possible to do the rear in NR and the rest in HP with films that almost match identical (as example, HP38 Charcoal looks almost identical to NR35 True Grey). 22 and 35 is quite a diff in darkness. why not 22 all around ??? you could go "progressive". HP38 front doors, HP32 rear doors, and HP22 rear (or NR25 True Grey if you have Navi). i however like the look of same darkness all around.

What is HP? NR? No capeche.... clueless over here....I don't have navi so...
yeah, i may do 22 all the way around.....in IL, it is ILLEGAL to have any tint at all so i was thinking if i'm gonna do the tint in the front, i'll barely do it! but i do get your point, if your gonna break the law, why not break it all the way! yeah, not sure yet.....I know 22 will look better all the way around but paranoid about pigs is all! |

NR - Non Reflective (i believe a hybrid film, non-metallized) if you dont drive/race like some a-holes do, then you wont be bothered.

Hello everyone...I'm about to get my 05 White/Parchment tinted, and was wondering if anyone had any pics of a TL with tints around 20%. I actually want 23%, but Tom from the Art of Tint only has 17% available, and I'm not sure if that's going to be TOO dark.
I want my windows dark, but I definitely don't want it to look completely blacked out. I want at least some transparency during the daytime so it looks like a window and not black plastic. Appreciate it... |

anAWESOME glass cleaning you can use is "Invisible Glass" it comes in an all black spray bottle and it is amazing. No swirls, NO WATER SPOTS, just clean glass. I picked some up the day after I bought my car and trust me, it was worth it. And it's safe for tint. I'm getting tinting done on Saturday and you can bet that I'll be sticking with tthat stuff.

Well, got my tint last Monday at the Art of Tint...looks good, but it does seem like a rushed job and not as quality as I expected from a place as highly recommended as this place. It's been a full week, but there are bubbles appearing all over the rear window, plus there's a small crease inbetween one of the defroster lines. I'm having Tom fix these for me, but I have to drive all the way out to Brooklyn this time... It's turning out to be a hassle.
