I've submitted a quote request using tintcenter.com but any input from you guys would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
be weary of tintcenter.com

start here Automotive Films Overview: Auto Window tinting by Solar Gard Window Films - Car window tint

Solargard is good film. find a dealer in your area, then do some online posting asking "has anyone used these guys before?". then using the questionairre list i gave in this thread you call them and ask the questions. when you find one who gives all the right answers you put them on your consider list. widdle down the list by doing your homework and if you get down to 2 or so shops who you think might be able to do a good job then you go to the shop, look around, check out the different types of tints (colors, metal film, ceramics, darkness, etc), ask to see their techs doing tint work, ask for customer references....., etc, etc.

dont rush this, you only want to go through this once. having to go back for mistakes will turn into a nightmare.... believe me, i've been through the nightmare scenario with a tinter who didnt know what the F he was doing.

if you have a navi then you want a ceramic film like Huper Optik or Pinnacle Formula-One films. if non-navi then metallized films are less expensive, Solargard HP is one of the better metallized films.

if you have more questions or need me to speak to you tinter just let me know.

What does having a navi system have to do with what type of tint you get?

the 3G TL had navi antenna under the rear deck. using highly metallized films on rear window will affect navi signal strength.......

Acura Kid,

Shame on you for deleting my post!

When someone says something you don’t like you just delete it! You make your claims and when someone steps up to confront them you act like your screen name.

Nice one

the glass itself may have about 5% but the TL deserves at least 30%. i'm not sure if this changes region-to-region because the corolla xrs i was looking at in AZ had factory tinted glass that was about 30%.

I have read almost this entire thread. And it seems that none is able to come to a consensus as to what the best tint is. I was going generally safe idea?to go with an F1 tint. Is this a generally safe idea? I live in NewMexico and I dont want a tint that is gonna peel and fade!

region or state rules apply for tinting windows.

see my thread Tinting Laws by State

useless to tint rear only...looks lame IMHO... I live in NH
