TL size versus Accord

Is the TL or the TSX based off the Accord? I just wanted to know if I can expect it to be the same size as my accord or bigger.

Both use the Accord platform, but the TL is a larger car inside and out. simont53 is correct, a TSX is a European Accord.

Exclamation

just to really pick those nits...

The TSX is based on the Japanese/European Accord, built in the Satiama (sp) plant and exported to this country virtually unchanged.

The TL is built on the same line in Marysville OH plant as the US Accord, which in turn is exported to Japan and sold as the Inspire or Inspiring. The Accord is a very different car in this country vs. the home item. As far as I can tell, the TL is a US only construction.

Check the Honda Japan site, use the translate feature in Google, and you can get an idea for the cleverness in part sharing Honda does worldwide.

Finally, the RL in this country is known as the Legend in Japan.

I really just wanted to know if the interior is bigger. I'm 6'3" and when I'm in my accord I have to put the seat almost all the way to the back, so if someone is seating behind me they would have to be

A. A circus midget
or
B. A person smaller then 5' 8"

I'm just looking for something a little bigger while maintaining a sporty feel. I'm hoping the TL can accomplish both of these things.

Yes, the TL is bigger...in the front area and rear area. You should be able to conpare the actual sizes by visiting Acura.com and Honda.com.

By the way, the TL and RL have nearly the same amount of interior area (i.e.-leg room).

Looking at those numbers leads me to believe that they are about the exact same size, however, when I drove each of them the TL felt bigger.

When comparing these two cars, I think it all boils down styling and branding. Branding isn't a big deal with me, but the TL is definitely more appealing to look at outside and in.
