Trunk Release is not working but it works with Remote

I just bough 2004 Acura TL and this is my first Acura. So far I like the car so much.

Today, I found out that I could not open the trunk using the trunk release under the steering wheel. I can open it using the remote key. Any one knows if this can be fixed easily. I just donít want to go to the dealer and spend all of unnecessary money.

I just tried it when I get off from my house to go to work. I have not done more investigation. I tried it when the engine is on and off, both condition the trunk release does not work but it works using remote.

I appreciate your help,

Look in the glove box for a switch. That will solve your problem.

Thank you for your reply. It is very helpful information and I am glad to know that.

However, the switch was off so it was supposed to work but it was not. I played with it couple time restart the engine, opened with remote and suddenly it is working.

It has been couple day and It is working now. Again, Thank you

HELP please!!
I have an 2004 TL and I noticed that the trunk release doesn't work from within the car and I also checked for that switch in the glove compartment and it's on. If I take the key out from ignition and then press the trunk open button I HAVE TO MANUALLY open the trunk cause it's not popping up. I also noticed a that if I press my hand on the trunk when it's closed it balances up and down a little bit. It's like the lock doesn't hold it tight no more.
Please if anyone knows how to fix it let me know.

PS. I also read somewhere that it might be the actuator

Thankx Dan.

Pull the glove box out like you are going to access the cabin air filter then check the power plug that snaps to the switch.
