I wasn't aware Acura still had an OEM-spec iPod adapter through dealerships. That's probably something specific through your dealer.

The only add-ons through the dealer I wanted were the all-weather floor mats, rear trunk tray, and cloth seat-covers (gets a bit dirty where I work).

I have added an USA Spec iPod adapter, too.

If you're still planning on buying new, try to get them to include the accessories you want with the price of the car.

I just use the aux in for the I-pod which works great..... I have I-pod interface/adapters in both the Z06 and Hummer, the one in the Hummer I can control the ipod from the touch screen navi head unit, it also displays artist/song info........ does the USAspec model allow this control in the TL?

The USA Spec doesn't give you track information (artist, title, etc). The only control you have is to skip ahead or back one track, or jumping ahead or back one playlist. I usually just hit Shuffle and let the iPod do its thing, so the factory Aux input should be good enough. But I like charging the iPod while its in the car.

Some more info on the USA Spec adapter can be found on their website:

USA Spec

There's another adapter called the DICE adapter that gives you iPod info at the expense of XM information.

Thanks for the info..... the Nucleus unit I have in my Hummer displays the info via the XM screen, as soon as you connect the ipod to the cord it overrides the XM, as soon as you unplug it you can control XM again.

Can you switch back to XM while the iPod is connected? The Nucleus unit looks good, but it's GM-only?
