staying login using FF

I'm still having problems staying login when i use FF even though i set it to "remember me". sometimes after i leave the site by either going somewhere else in the browser or just close it, the next time i come back, i need to login again.

this started happening when we upgraded and only happens on this forum

After I told you that you were the only one with this problem I started having the same issue on my Tablet PC with FireFox. My desktop with the same version of FireFox (but Win2k rather than XPTablet) has no problems at all.

I'll look into it more.

They may have group policies that require only session-based cookies or something. Simmy. There are similar settings in firefox, but inability to "stay" logged in is always a cookie issue, for the most part. Your login cookie will only be invalidated if you change your password.

In case anyone else has this issue, I think I found a fix. I'm using Firefox 1.5.0.1 on Windows XP Pro SP2.

After months and months of staying logged in, I suddenly began being logged out. It might happen during the middle of browsing AW or when hitting refresh on an AW page that had been open but unused in a browser window or tab for a while. Firefox did not offer to remember my username/password as it does for most sites and checking the "remember be" box was useless. Logging out manually to clear all cookies didn't help either.

To fix this:

Go to Tools, Options in Firefox
Privacy button
--Passwords Tab
----View Saved Passwords button
----Scroll through the list and delete any references to acuraworld.com
----Close Button
--Cookies tab
----View Cookies button
----Enter "acuraworld" in the search box
----Remove all of the cookies it finds at acuraworld.com (mine had 9)
----Close out the dialog boxes to get back to the browser window.
----Log out of AW and back in.
