On-Topic Section for Lounge

Since we tried the "mosh-pit" and that didn't work, how about we try the opposite and have a sub-forum called "on-topic".

This could be where people go who wanted to discuss serious issues or have real questions answered without the fear of the thread being hijacked or turned into a who's-browner-than-who thread.

The fact is that most threads end up being 180 degrees from where they started. A lounge forum that is actually moderated sounds like a good idea to me.

I don't know Jeff...it seems like it would be begging to be corrupted only making it harder for the mods in that area. I'd love to have one but I'm just not sure...we'd have to be really strict on those who post nonsense in there.

That's kinda the point. You don't allow nonsense in the car sections or the for-sale sections, right? So why not have a lounge section where people can actually have a thread about a topic that doesn't turn into a free-for-all.

I see what you mean. Still uncertain as to what would transpire but you never know until you give it a try I suppose. We'll see what the code wench says...
