Car 1: 91 Acur Integra GS
Talking 91 Integra GS Sticky clutch issue...

Hi!

I have a 1991 Integra GS with a 1.8L Honda engine in it.
We just had the clutch replaced on it after 270K and we have never really driven a new car or a car with a new clutch before. We always had a little bit of resistance when we change gears both pressing and letting go of the clutch when we change gears.

Now when we press on the clutch it is almost too easy and it feels like it's sticking on the way up... makes up for some unfortunate gear change rubbing and grinding. The gearbox is ok bit it jst feels like it's too easy. What can I do? It is a cable clutch and someone suggested lubricating part of it with a rust inhibitor or something. Can I do that? I have to pass it around...

Please comment...

I'd look at using some dry lube on the cable. Oil or rust inhibitors, etc, tend to attract dirt and will eventually compound the problem

A cable clutch on an Integra????

Yeah, go to NAPA and ask the parts person there for a good dry lube for those types of cables.

I still question having a cable clutch, though.

You should take a look into dry lube/graphite based lube.
