92 integra cooling question

My cooling fan wont kick on unless I have the A/C going.I was wondering where the fan relay was,I cant find it in my book,and I have almost overheated twice,cause I forget to turn the ac on while stopped.

please help me ..I have posted on 3 other forums,and zero responses

Car 1: 1990 Integra RS
The radiator fan relay should be located behind the passenger side headlight, right next to the radiator.

Also, if for some reason your AC fan doesn't kick in, and you feel that your car is starting to overheat, a good thing to do is to roll down your windows and turn your heater on full blast, but if it's nearly to the H, pull over and turn your car off.


If you don't know what I'm talking about, download the service manual and turn to section 23-7. It's page 905 I believe.

my 92' integra's cooling fans wouldnt come on either...i never tried to turn on A/C to see if they did but all i did was run a new ground wire to my fan and it worked ever since then.

Car 1: 92 Integra GS (Auto)
Car 2: 99 3.2L TL
Car 3: 97 3.0L CL
There are two main problems why the fan wont turn on...

ECT Switch located on the thermostat house. This burns out and need replacing. This tells the fans when to turn on.

Cooling Fan Relay located on the Radiator Baffle. This can burn out as well.

Replace the ECT Switch first then the relay if that doesn't work.

That's what I would have done first.
