Car 1: 94 Integra Rs
94 Teg speaker installation

I looked up an online manual and it said the 94 integra houses 6.5 inch speakers up front.

I just bought some Hifonics zx 16.5 components. I measured the hole in the door and its 5 inches (wtf?)

This is what happens when I try to stick the speaker in the plastic spacer (same diameter as hole in door, screws down to door).

It does not want to fit. What the hell? What do I do?
I tried installing it without the spacer, but without the spacer it hits the window. Not to mention.. with or without the spacer its the same diameter.

Here are measurements:

nothing like sticking a square peg into a round hole.

What manual did you read that it said 6"? was it an offical online user's manual?

Online User Manuals can be found here: Owner's Manual

Here is a diagram from the service manual, that isn't on any online database that I've come across:

**Edit: no speaker size was shown.**

Sorry to say, but I think you need to exchange your speakers for smaller ones.

With or without the plastic spacer the speaker does not want to fit. As you see in the photos.... both measure at 5 inches. I am not sure what to do?

I had 6.5'' all around in my old teg, and they fit right in. Some loser probably got a pair of 5'' off a friend or something and had to use brackets to put them in anyway.

Thats odd, because I had no problem bolting some 6.5s in there. I'll take a look at my setup tonight if I have time to go down to the storage unit.
