Audio Help for NEW Integra Owner...
Hey Everyone,
First time on forum, brand new owner of a 95 Integra RS. I have a couple questions dealing with audio: First...does anyone have good step by step instructions on how to remove an aftermarket stereo unit (Sony Kaboom I believe) and reconnect the wiring into the proper places? Because the one that came with the Car has almost no playing volume and I want to try and reconnect all the wiring / grounding to see if that fixes it before I go to an audio shop. Second...hows the quality from the stock speakers on the Integra? If I were to replace speakers, would it be more worth my time to replace front or back? Whats a cheap, yet quality speaker to replace them with? Thanks for the help, look forward to maxing out my Integra's features and ride quality! |

taking out the deck is pretty straight forward. you have to have some deck removers though.

alpine has significantly dropped their prices over the last 8 months, especially on head units. if i were doing speakers i'd just wait and replace all four because....well i'm just like that, makes me feel like i have a balanced sound inside the car.
If you're not familiar with audio and wiring I'd suggest going to a shop and having it professionally done. You get peace of mind and a warranty on parts and labor.... and it's really not too expensive.

Some newbie tips
-Disconnect the battery before working with serious stuff. -Check your fuses before worrying about anything else. -Keep track of your screws, dont just throw them anywhere. -Label cut wires so you dont have to dig through the manual to figure out what the orange wire with blue stripe is.. Id recomend not using factory wiring for aftermarket radio, theres a few things you have to use. but speaker wires should be ran for all four speakers. If you think its grounding problems, try takin the ground wire from the radio/amp and hooking it up on a ground that you know will work. Good luck
