Sorry to hear you got pulled over. It happened to me last September on the highway that passes through a small town that gets their funding on tickets.
If a cop pulls you over then he either has a good reason to or he's a punk. Seeing as how you were 20+ over he had a good reason and it's going to be his word over yours in court, see who wins that one. =/ You can try and plead the lights-not-being-on-case or you can suck it up and say you were in the wrong and to apologize and hope they have some mercy. If you were 5-10 over, it might be a different issue but 20+ is stretching it. Good luck to ya. ![]() |

i live in jersey and i never heard that a cop has to have some lights on to be visible while watching for speeders. that doesn't make any sense tho. they want to catch you speed and do not want to be seen so they are gonna do their best to blend in. why would they have their lights on lol that would be dumb. but thats my two cents...good luck with the ticket tho

well ive been talking with some people about how to go about in court and the road i was on was a 2 lanes so i was told to just say that someone was passing me going faster and i was being pulled over instead. Basically i think i can get away with it if the cop doesnt show up to the court so im hoping that happens. Its frustrating cause i could get in trouble which i dont want to and it sucks cause i usually dont speed

They always show up. In NH, if they cant show up they send someone who can. I've heard of the "no lights" thing but whos to say its not a national rumor. Cops can do mostly anything.
