car vandalism what else is new
so last night ( sat march 8th) i got home at about 1:30 Sunday morning from my girlfriends house. Parked my car in my driveway and went to sleep. Wake up this morning and i see my mom outside with this puzzled look on her face near my car so i got out n see that someone ripped of my spoiler. The brake light wire was hanging out and flying in the wind and still some broken plastic where the spoiler was suppose to connect to my trunk. so this is my first experience with theft or vandalism and im pretty pissed. I don't know whether i should go with a type r or just keep it wingless. i think its absolutely ridiculous seriously just ripping my spoiler off. Just another sad story of integra theft/vandalism

Well, if someone ripped off your oem spoiler. What do you think will happen to your type-r?
Just keep it wingless, fill those holes and hope your thieves get it hard when they do their time.

Don't spend the money on a other spoiler, just fill the holes, your just wasting money because they will steal that to, btw did your car car came with the stock spoiler or did you buy one?
If your car doesn't have a third brake Light, you can get a ticket for that to, so make you buy one if you don't already have one.

If I was to take my spoiler off I would need to install a third brake Light(high mount brake lamp) that mounts onto the rear window. Take a look at the OEM ITR spoiler there no third brake light, on the spoiler the (led) but there is one mounted on the rear window, if your car is old around 1970, somewhere around there, most likely your car never came with one, then your good, just like some Honda Accord the older ones doesn't come with the passenger side mirror. Just ask your local DMW, and they will tell you.

You can go to a shop and have them fill the holes, or buy some plugs that will cover up the holes, search "spoiler plugs"

Pre-registering inspection for salavaged cars: "Lamp System 1) All originally equipped lighting equipment must be in working order. Please pre-inspect the following lights before your appointment. Headlamps, tail lamps, marker lamps, back-up lamps, brake lamps (third lamp if required), license plate lamps, turn signals, high beam indicator & any and all warning lamps. Dome light and instrument illumination are exempt from this inspection." My car is salvaged and before getting it registered, it required a third brake light but was overlooked by the inspecter. Since owning my car and being 3rd brake light free, I've gotten a few tickets but never has a cop question my whereabouts of the third brake light. Sure it might be against the law but all the times i've been confronted by a police officer, he's also overlooked my tinted windows which i believe is a bigger deal then our extra brake light rule. I don't think anyone gives a rat's ass about the third brake light. At most, a $10 fix-it-ticket or a letter of appeal will remove your fine if you sweet talk them.

That sucks man.
I'm a merchandiser and drive for work. Well today while I was in one of my stores somebody stole my front and rear red emblems. I found some on ebay but they're $120 . I didnt know they were that expensive cause I bought the car with them on. |

Sorry to hear about the spoiler, I'm surprised they just ripped it right off b/c aren't they bolted down?
As for the guy who got his emblems stolen, I bought non-OEM ones off of this site TTL MOTORSPORT :: MISC :: EMBLEM AND STICKER :: ACURA RED "A" EMBLEM for $30 + $2 shipping (it comes in a pair (2)). They look really nice. The OEM ones are at least $50 each on eBay. And for the third-brake light thing... many states require you either have a third brake light in the spoiler or on the rear window. I think cops usually have bigger issues to worry about (speeding, wreckless driving, etc) than a missing third brake light. |

yea it sucks, the teg and I arent having a good week. Tuesday night i was on my way back from the University of Hartford where my girlfriend goes and it was like 1030 and i got pulled over for doing 62 in a 40. Bummer. No tickets summons to court on march 25th. I guess anything over 60 on a secondary road is a summons to cout. I know it was a stupid mistake and I usually dont speed like that. It sucks im hoping i dont get f'ed with it so . I just got a question when Im in court can i bring up that i didnt get a radar slip saying i was going 62 and also the cop didnt have anything lights on or anything and i thought cops had to have some sort of light on to be visible?

well the cop was on the side of the road with a radar with all his lights off hiding in like a shadow of a bunch of trees. i was told that a cop has to have some sort of lights on, like his headlights dimmed or sirens dimmed, even when just sitting there to be visible. He pulled out ,turned his headlights on then turned his sirens on.
