Catalytic Converter from Andys Finaly Here!

Hey i said i would post once i finaly got the converter from andysautosports.com incase anybody else was considering buying it.

Ordered: December 10th
Got here: January 13th

Thats like a month shipping.. lol

Total Cost: $127.12

The thing looks great, full stainless, very nice welds and it comes with what you see in the picture, a gasket and 3 bolts. Its defintly got some weight to it but it feels pretty light for how large it is, wish i could compare to my existing cat. The only thing im concerned about is whats on the inside.. which is nothing.. lol! There inside wall is like a cheese grader if you can see it in the pics (Bad cellphone pics). I dont know much about cats and im hoping this isnt some kind of test pipe.. and wont make my exhaust freakin loud.

It was shiped in bubble rap and stuck sideways in a (cube) box, but who really cares the thing is made out of metal, little chance of damage.

Let me know what you guys think.

...isnt that a "test pipe"...its just a straight through pipe with bung for o2 sensor right? cuz im gonna put on a test pipe as well when i do my exhaust and ive been told that with OBDII that it will throw a code....on my 94 accord it ddnt but im sure that was OBDI ecu. I know they sell dummy o2 sensors or a rsesitor for the o2 sensor..im actaully having a issue now w/ my car throwing the same 2 codes....one that has to do with vacuum and the other emissions..im thik clogged cat or bad o2 sensor...oops sorry for high jackin the thread...let us know how it utrns out and if it throws a code

If you wanna buy go see if they have them in stock, when i called they said that "all the cats ship this week" so there might be some extras you can buy.

The thing looks exactly like the ebay kind so your right, i dont know if i wasted my money. I guess its a test pipe, not too happy about that, dunno if its gonna be loud.

It doesnt have a sensor bung on it because the sensor is in the header right before the cat, i looked under my car and i couldnt see a sensor on my cat. So i dont think it will throw a code, i hope not. And think that 3rd Gen Integra is OBDII.

94s are obdI. does anyone know if test pipes make ur exhaust a lot louder? i love my exhaust note and i dont want to ruin it. we have no emissions testing here so i might just put a pipe there not sure yet.

Exhaust note is 97% in the muffler and/or resonator. You may notice a VERY slight change in sound, but I doubt it will be overly noticeable unless you are really listening for it.

Test pipe = one straight chunk of solid steel tube with flanges on the ends.

If your thing has any kind of honeycombing or holes inside, that's to allow gasses to flow into the space btween the inner and outer walls and through whatever may be in there. Some high flow cats are designed like that, but it's also possible that it's just a simple resonator designed to look like a cat to fool the random visual inspections some states do on their emissions tests.
Either case, it's not going to do much of anything to your exhaust note and our cars run so ridiculously clean anyways you don't have much to worry about.

just as long as you leave your stock resonator on then it shouldnt make it any louder but you take of that resonator it will be louder
