clutch stays disengaged.....sorta

all right heres the run down of the problem. when i press in my clutch pedal its not coming back out, but.. the clutch is engadging and letting me drive. so what i have been doing is tieing a rope around the clutch pedal and pulling it back out after i shift. today i have drained the entire system then bled it but its still doing the same thing (i pumped it about 300 times). ive checked underneath my dash and there isnt any broken springs or nothing. the only thing else i can tell you is it doesnt feel like the clutch pedal is just lose but that its being pulled back in which doesnt make any sence since wouldnt that just disengadge the clutch and not let me drive?

you may have a bad CMC (clutch master cyliner). you can pick one up at any local auto parts store for no more than about $70..... Omni also makes one if you wanna spend some more coin...... see if you can notice any leaks

if the flywheel was machined under spec the car would have more than just clutch problems, typically the pressure plate goes and this won't allow the clutch to engage and disengage properly.

I can post diagrams of the clutch and pressure plate if the need be.

It sounds like a CMC issue to me. The hydrolic clutch system is suppose to be a closed system like your brakes. The tension that you feel in your clutch peddle is the spring tension of the fingers on the PP pushing back. If you're not getting that along with non-disengagement of the clutch, you got yourself a leak somewhere.

yeah im thinking to myself if i can still change gears its probably not the clutch itself. ive never worked on a clutch before so im gonna try the CMC and CSC before i have to take it somwere. ohh and big-o told me that then needed to have it for an entire day and pull out the tranny to see "exactly" what the problem is. BULL SHIT

This happened on my first manual car before the teg. Ended up replacing the CMC and all was well.

sounds like white grease. Its what happends when oil and water hydrogenate (which is quite rare in itself without some heavy agitation).
