GS-R gas mileage

Well, as you know from one of my threads, I am getting back in the game with an Integra. Once I move out into my own, I'm gonna need something reliable and fuel efficient. My only concern with a GS-R though is that it uses premium, premium prices for gas have got me by the balls. I want to know people who have GS-R's on what you are getting, I'm trying to shoot for 30-35 mpg.

Yeah, premium prices suck but paying $30 that will last a week is definitely worth paying over $50-80 a week.

Right now though, I'm having trouble just finding a GS-R that doesn't have a salvage title.

$30 isn't going to fill up the GS-R
(take a look at the gas price around the bay area now) if your gas is almost empty, is more like $50 and up, I'm spending about 35 to fill up my LS, and that with regular.

I used to drive my bro Lexus SC400 around, and you know you have to use premium which cost $4.10 and up depending on where you go.

My teg is having problems, it seem like I'm only getting city 20 mpg highway 25 mpg maybe less

Well, $30 will get me probably 3/4 tank and that usually lasts me the whole week if I don't plan trips to either San Francisco or Monterey.

My last teg was getting the same mileage as you, around 20 city/28 highway. Hoping I can achieve at least 30 with a GS-R

We should be getting more then 20 in city, and about 30-35 highway with the LS, I'm going to drive the MR2 to work more often, while I have my teg looked at by my mechanic.

I was thinking of getting a Del Sol S, before I brought the MR-2 because the gas millage
City (mpg)28 - 33
Highway (mpg) 35 - 39
if I fill up my gas with $30-$40 that would of lasted 2 maybe 3 weeks.

I would get up to 45 mpg regularly on the highway. 23-30 around town depending if I mashed on it or not.

Your mileage will vary whether you mash it into VTEC much or not.

I get about...

23-26mpg (City)
28-32mph (Highway)

My last fill up was 10.45 gallons @ $3.83 (premium) = $40

I got 250 miles on that tank so roughly 24 mpg which was city and in VTEC every now and then, hehe.

I miss the days when I first started driving and gas started at $2.30, a full tank cost me only $20.

Geez, $1.90. I don't think we are ever going to see gas that low in the next 10-20 years.

haha gas in 20 years is gonna be nuts, it may be a rare commodity if we run out of fossil fuel, my brother told me its unlikely we will run out though and he is generally a smart guy. As for mpg, have you ever heard of hypermilling? Its a no-fun way to drive, but i hear people are doubling their mpg, it involves using cruise control, always going the speed limit, slowly accelerating, and rarely using the brakes. I would totally be down for it except it sounds like no fun at all, id rather pay the butt-rape gas fees and drive like a maniac

The way gas price is going up, I wouldn't even be surprise if it went up to $10
