Car 1: 1998 Integra GSR |
Here in Ontario we are running at:
87 Octane = $1.34/L CDN = $5.09/G US 91 Octane = $1.46/L CDN = $5.54/G US Some analysts have predicted it could be $2 /L within a year (~$8/G). Though with the rising price the difference in cost from running 87 to 91/94 is becoming less significant. I usually average around 8L/100km (31mpg) in my GSR. I have done tanks as low as 6.9L/100km if I drive purely for economy. My other vehicle is a 07 Ford Escape(family vehicle) which averages about 12L/100km. When fuel prices where lowever (0.85/L) I didn't save much by driving the integra becuase of the premium fuel cost for the GSR. (0.14 on 0.85 is a 17% increase, which negated a significant portion of the GSR fuel savings) Now though, the Integra is costing me much less to run in comparison to the Escape, even when I'm putting in 94 Octane fuel. (0.14 on 1.34 is only a 10% increase now). So as the price goes higher, I'll have to drive the Integra more ;=) |
