Sorry mang, things are dead around here on a sunday...

I did a search on T-i.net and guess what? I found your post over there

They usually have the best DIY articles, sorry i couldnt find anything for you...

Anyway, get a hanes or clinton manual, grab a friend and tackle that beast, if you are mechanically able, if not, take it to the shop.

Thanks CRV-surf, I appreciate the advice. I went ahead and starting tearing things up. I'm about half way through and it's not too bad yet, but I'm sure it'll get worse. Just hope my head aint cracked. So while i've got most everything out, is there anything else I should look at checking/replacing while I have easy access??

Replace your headstuds with either Arp or Golden eagles (GE i hear are cheaper and better), Don't re-use your old headstuds. You could replace the TB, Valve lash adjustment, or Water pump.

Good luck, Remember torque specs

Well, I knew this seemed too easy. I was movin along just fine, got the timing belt, valve cover, etc off, proceeded to remove the camshaft holder bolts and SNAP!! Yup, that right, I broke off a bolt in the head. So, anybody know how the hell to get it out??? I'm guessing i'll have to bring it to a machine shop and get it drilled out, and heli-coil the hole. On the bright side, my head isn't warped, but I haven't had it preasure tested yet so we'll see what happens. Damn bolts!!!!!!!!!

You broke of a head stud? I am sorry, may the honda gods watch over you.

*edit* for all the searchers... don't RE-use your head studs!

No, I didn't have any problems with the head studs, it's the bolts that hold the camsfat in place. I broke one off in the head.

Well I took the head to a machine shop and they got the broken bolt out, but now I have another problem. I've called all over the city looking for new head bolts but can't find them anywhere. Can anyone tell me where to get them. I've seen a bunch of posts on here with people who replaced their head bolts. I'm in Canada by the way. Thanks.

I should read this forum before I had the same problem, so I can get the lesson. Unfortunately I did it before you do. I broke the spark plug. There is no way to get it unless you take it the cylinder head off. When I took it off I broke one of the bold stud (8x37) of exhaust and one of the corner bold flange (6x40). If you change the cylinder head gasket we have to change so many things. At least bold washer (11x158) and (11x188), gasket (cylinder, exhaust manifold, the broken stud or flange bold; the seal valve stem (arai and nok), gasket head cover, and washer head cover. All those stuff almost $200. Clean the surface of each metal that connet to the gasket otherwise wasting your job. Work slowly with passion and cleanliness is important. Integra engine is thin, then it is important to check if the head warps or not.

you should really take the head all the way off anyway, otherwise its very difficult to clean the mating surfaces so the new gasket doesn't blow. Always check for warping. Always replace every gasket. Its really not too bad. I did one on a D15 engine in 5 hours in 90 degree heat with no shade on tarmac. car made the three hour trip home but because I didn't pull the head all the way off I couldn't appropriately clean the surfaces the gasket blew again..... I was a dumbass and cut corners.

My friend, a Master Acura mechanic and he's running his Automotive Shop told me that I don't have to change the headbolt cylinder engine. I brought my cylinder head to the Machine Shop to be shaved. I asked him the same question about the cylinder headbolt. It's OK to reused the bolt. Both of them remind me to add the torque from the factory specification. I don't have manual, so I don't know exactly the torque would be. Anybody knows the exact torque? I'd appreciated if you inform me. I have another question. My integra valve is very clean. Do you think that I should replace the valve stem seals? Would happened if I did'nt change it? Thanks!!!!
