Car 1: Acura Integra 98 |
I got this new 89 teg and i dont know if it has an alarm or anything. there is a led light in back of the steering wheel but i didnt get a remote control or anything with the keys. also i really like this alarm on this site(AdvancedJDMParts.com - Performance Parts and Accessories - UNIVERSAL JDM FLIP KEY ALARM SECURITY SYSTEM W/ RETRACTABLE KEYS) because of the retractable key. i know nothing to zero about cars so i would really appreciate the help.

Im not quite sure what the red LED is. I know that my stock head unit in my 98 Integra has a red LED that blinks when the car is off, i would imagine that yours is the same type of setup and a standard "security" light built into the cars, just a flashing lil red LED is all it is, but honestly it does a lot more good then it sounds.
As far as that JDM Security shit, damn idk man, its an 89 integra, but that's your call.

If you went with that cheap alarm, it would be better to also add a fuel cut off, and other layers of security, just by adding a alarm doesn't mean someone can't steal your car, but if you add layers it would take a thief a longer time to steal it, and they might just give up. As for the red led it could be a alarm, or maybe the owner of the car put a led, and connected it to the battery to make it "look" like it has a alarm.

yup, that's exactly what is in the stock radio that comes from acura, in my 1998 anyways. a small ass red led is implanted into the headunit towards the top right corner by the eject button, only time u can see it is at night, but when i can see it, i can see it blinking in my car, from my 2nd story apt windows, living room and bed room, so its def visible at night when the car is off.
