hey i got a dc5, thinking of switching to teg and f/i, couple ?'s please help!

hey guys sorry for newb question, but i would like to get a teg here pretty soon and slap a supercharger or turbo onto it, and probably get a new motor since the one i would get would have 100k plus most likely, what are the benifits of the supercharger power wise, like vortech/procharge. compared to a mild turbo set up, i want somewehre around 300-350whp, would i need to build the motor or do anything special for this? and wat kinda power would the superchargers put out vs a miild turbo kit like turbonetics or greddy? oh yea and wat ecu do u reccomend hondata? i could give or take some power. thanks for the help!

Whoa whoa there speedy, lemme point you in the right direction.

If you're shooting for 300-350, you're gonna want to build the internals if you plan on daily driving the teg as well (as most of us poor honda folks do). 260 imo is the cut for the daily stock internals.

If you said you wanted a mild boost in power and you were shooting for 180-220 hp then the s/c is applicable but choosing the turbo is a much better choice for your 300hp goal.

Just to give you some insight on the vortech s/c, it's simply a dyno queen. She'll put out great numbers on the dyno but the power band is so small at the top that it's just un-usable.

Now turbo kits: If you were shooting for 200-240hp range, these kits can easily put you there but again, you're looking at a custom set-up.

Hondata, chrome or uber data will get you the same results. it all depends on your tuner's preference. Hondata is a much easier program to tune with and has little bug's but chrome however is FREE. So talk to your tuner and whatever he prefers will be your tunning program of choice.

Where do you start knowing you need to:
1. Build the internals
2. Custom Turbo kit
3. Have $4-6G's for this application?

Best site to accumulate parts and more turbo knowledge then any single person can give you?

supercharged tegs are mostly a letdown. go turbo.
and with stock internals you could make 200-300whp but it might not be that reliable. but for 1-2k that aint bad
if you put forged internals and some higher quality parts and got a great tune in there 300-400whp isnt too hard. thats where you would expect to spend 4-7k

Right, for the parts, the tuning, bla bla bla. You can't just slap a turbo on like you would an intake or something.
