How do cut the power to my integra's antenna
I have a 2001 integra GSR, i think the track for my antenna is messed up, cuz everytime i start my car it makes that awful grinding noise mentioned in a couple other threads, i'm not a pro with electrical wires coming out the back of the deck, and i saw another solution where you can just unplug the power for the aerial unit, the pannels in the rear hatch seem impossible to take out, looks like one giant piece, anyone know how to get to the antenna unit in the back to unplug the power??

Taking out the back interior is a pain, you have to take out the backseats and then the whole big plastic thing is just held in place by a bunch of screws and those stupid plastic expander screws.
I'd say the easier way would be to just disconnect the wire from your deck. And that antenna grind is fairly normal, i know it happened 24/7 with my old integra, and now my motor for the antenna is broken and I never bothered to fix it. ![]() |

IMO your better off buying a shark (s2000) antenna, my antenna doesn't go down.

This is what i did on my 94 Integra
You need to remove pull up the rubber boot seal first, then take off the panel along the back next THEN the panel at the side, my Integra is a bit rough and ready so i just pulled the side panel out, it's held on by push clips like the ones that are used on the door cards. To disconnect the power aerial, follow the wires (2 yellow & 1 black) from the bottom of the motor up to the blue push connector (you can't see this connection as it's hidden) feel it with your hand. it disconnects from the top of the connector. I think if you disconnect the blue ant wire from the back of the stereo the aerial just won't go up at all. you can pull up the aerial by force when it's disconnected and it will stay up all the time. that's what the pissing rain does to youe aerial in Ireland, (Green grass me arse) |
