Car 1: 01 integra ls
need help on automatic transmission

hello i have a problem with my automatic ls,last weekend my friend helped me to install the high flow cat that i bought, but when he cut the wires for the oxygen sensor there was a spark like a short circuit and he put everything back and when i turned on the car the D4 was flashing and the check engine light came up,i tried to drive but when i changed gears the car jerked and wouldnt run as usual my first thougt was the transmission but how could my transmission go bad after only 30 min. and be parked,so i took the car to a place that work only on transmissions ,the bad thing is that when i was at work many people told me that they got ripped-off by them and i cant do anything because the car is already there ,so im asking if you could tell me what might be the problem so they wont tell me something crazy and take advantage of me,please help me.

When ever you do anything electrical, Always Always disconnect the battery.

You might've sent a surge through your systems a fried a few key electrical switches solinoids and simple fuses. If i were you, i'd go get a code reader at autozone and check to see what they say.

Why in the world did he cut the wires to the o2 sensor? If he couldn't get the o2 sensor off the car, why not just un-plug it?

It probably your Vehicle speed sensor or something that got fried in the shortage. That part is $50-100 bucks and takes two nuts to take off.

theres a way you can check to see if its ur shift and lockup solenoid.

you unplug the plugs on them and take a piece of wire and put 1 end of wire on positive side of battery and other end of wire touch it on the metal inside the plug thats connected to the shift and lock solenoid. if u hear a click then that means it is working properly.

just do that to all 4 solenoids connectors if they all click their all good

btw, ur gonna want to touch the wire to only 1 side of the plug at a time
