New member 2001 Acura Integra

Hello, yesterday I purchased a Silver/Black 2001 Acura Integra 5sp coupe as a daily driver with 123k miles for $5900. Any clues to know what trim I have? I think it's an LS, but I'm not sure.

I also have a 1995 BMW M3 as my weekend/track car that got me addicted to modding (very expensive but worth every penny ), which brings my next question. Would this car be worth modding? Its very clean and I really like the way this car looks and drives, hopefully it wont be too expensive.

I'm going to have to give in and buy a camera to upload pics this week.

It is more than likely an LS, since that is the most common trim style. The regulars on the forum will help you determine that better than I can.

Performance and visual mods on these cars are very much worthwhile. However, there is definitely a "look" the regulars here prefer that may or may not fit your agenda.

to Acura World, and have fun!!

Thank you, I'm looking mostly for performance upgrades. Only visual upgrades I can see are the headlights and tint and maybe some wheels.

there is not a whole lot of performance that you can get out of the ls motor without forced induction. suspension can make it a whole lot more fun to drive though.

what he said, and you'll probably find that it's a lot cheaper to mod than your M3.

Open your driver side door, you should see a white sticker (maybe more then one) and it should tell you what trim you have.

The M3 is nice my cousin had a 06 but now he has a M6, my dream car is a Skyline.

Don't foreget the integra has more mdos you can get then the m3 meaning you can swap engines from the type R, GS-R, as well as the TSX, RSX

Grats on the new Integra, you will most likely enjoy it. As far as mods visual and performance there are quite a lot you can do. honestly I think the body and so far are quite close to perfect from factory on these cars. Performance wise, like it was said above, you can do some but not really a LOT to get more out of it. CIA, Header, Exhaust and so forth will def help, but throw a supercharger on that bitch!

Yeah, modding this is going to be a heck of a lot cheaper than the M3...although, like the guys said, you can only go so far without a swap, turbo, rebuild, or something like that.

Sounds a lot like my s50 motor on my e36, that is why I ditched it for the euro s50b32 (and even then you can only get 400rwhp before you need FI). I plan on going turbo asap, but my suspension is shot and I plan on going oem to save for the turbo kit.

I dont want a lot of power out of it, but if 1k gets me good gains why not? It could use the extra power.

$1000 won't get you that far on an integra unless you go for a nos shot or something. I guess you could start rebuilding the engine a bit, but even then, I can't think of a way you'd be looking at more than 15-20 horses after spending $1k.

On the other hand, $1k will buy you a killer coilover setup...

I guess I'll start with suspension then. I'll take a look under the car once it gets warmer out, snow storm FTL.

Boosting an LS is the only worthwhile perf mod. LSs boost real nice tho, so if you're willing to spend the 8K it would be well worth it.

That'd better be one killer turbo setup if he spends $8k on it...
