Rough Idle

Hi, I'm a new owner of a 92 acura integra. Had alot of work done to it cuz the car wouldnt pass smog e.g. timing issues, cleaning the intake valves and EGR valves, O2 sensor and catalytic replaced, etc. Now, that it finally passes smog, the idle is very rough to the point where the car would sometimes shut down. At acceleration, the car seems fine. Also, with the A/C on, the car runs fine too, even at idle. I'm taking the car back to the mechanic who thinks it maybe a vacuum hose (Mind you, the car didnt have this rough idle when i acquired it.) Any suggestions/advice/opinions on what could be the problem or what to look forward to when i take it back? i was thinking of taking it to the stealership to get a good diagnosis. Thanks in advance!

If the car idles badley with the AC on, and then idles fine with the AC OFF... thats just freakin weird.
