Car 1: 2001 Integra GS-R
Umm, my engine is rattling? WTF?!?!

So my engine started rattling last week, I thought/ hoped that it was just that the valves needed adjusting. got the tools, went out there today and adjusted the valves, turned her over and it still rattles!! any ideas? I suspect it's going to have to be taken apart, which I'm not going to do myself, I'll let someone else do it.

Could be the lifters, its really hard to tell without hearing the car.

is it a tick or a rattle? are u sure its comin from the motor? if so where is it coming from ehuas side or intake side? need more info

definitely coming from the engine, sounds like it is coming from the valve train, when it started rattling it never lost power, just developed the rattle.

good catch, got a call from my mechanic today after having the car towed this morning, one of the nuts on the #2 exhaust lifter had worked its way loose. better safe than sorry though, it was making an awful racket.

that was the first thing I checked, when I first got the new engine in they would back out for whatever reason, but I think I've finally got that problem handled.

those darn exhaust lifters!! like a month ago i was doing like 85mph and 1 of my exhaust lifters came off LOL
