My GSR burns quite a bit of oil. I've gotten to the point where it was running dry (oops!) and it threw a check engine code. Filled it up, reset the ECU and it's been good ever since. It burns at least 2 quarts when it hits 3000 miles or so. I'm assuming it's the valve seals because I haven't had any leaks since I had the car.
Could be valve seals or it could be piston rings.

With that many miles I wouldn't throw out the possiblity of the bore being off. When I rebuilt my motor one of the cylinders was a few thou over (hense LOTS of blow by) and I had to bore all of them out and go with oversized pistons.

FYII: If anyone wants to go with oversized OEM pistons, CTR pistions are a work of art and perfect for the GSR motors. With the GSR head I bumped compression over 11:1 with these psitons, and you can get them from Honda for cheap.

I've got a 98 RS, will those CTR Pistons work with my B18B or are they some C only type shit?

HMMM... Can't think of why not as as the bores are the same. You won't get the same compression as I did since the heads are different, but It should still be pretty close to 11:1.

I think in the CTR B16 compression is like 10.8:1, and in my motor I was at 11.3:1. COuld be a little off, going by some old memories

stroke is different, bore is the same. I'm pretty sure that you can use them though.
