acura mdx 2005 - Hands Free Link (HFL)

I just purchased a used MDX 2005 and the HFL is passcoded. I've searched long and hard to find a way to reset it myself. But everything is pointing to go back to a dealer to have them set it for $50. Does anyone know of a method for resetting the HFL passcode? The dealer I bought the car from is 500 miles from my home. Thanks

When I set mine up I just reset the code. Use the HFL voice prompts to help.
From the Main HLF say "Setup" and you should be able to set up and re-register your phone.

Good luck

The passcode is for the HFL, itself. After I depress the HFL button on the steering wheel, It says the HFL has been pass coded, please enter the passcode. I can't get into the main setup menu. thanks again

the prvious owner has it set up with a pass code. I think the best way to reset it is to disconnect the negative battery terminal for a few minutes. Make SURE you know your radio code and Navi code (if you have navi) before you do that- you will have to enter the codes for those when you re connect the batter. If that doesn't work- The dealer would be your best bet if someone can't help you from here.
