Certified 05 MDX Touring with Tow pack prices?
Hey Everyone.
I was just wondering what you all would expect to pay for a used 05 MDX Touring as I want to buy before Sept. Tow pack must be added so how much should I expect to pay for that? Basically, I am looking at two options: A vehicle with about 40K on it or one with 60K with an extended warranty beyond the usual certified. And then there is the occasional vehicle with DVD and Nav which would be so nice. It seems like they are listed for 26K to 29K around here. How much should I be able to push the dealers down? What price would you expect to pay? Also, there seems to be a lot of conflict online about whether 91 is required or just recommended in the manual. Anybody with an 2005 have their manual to verify because if it is required premium, I think I might forgo my love considering the prices of gas. How much do you all really get for mileage? Anything important I should know about the 05? Does the sound system rock or will I need to upgrade it at all? Does that void warranty? Anybody have a black vehicle with ebony interior? Is it a killer in the summer? I love the black, but couldn't even touch one with out burning my hand while at a dealership on a hot day. Not sure if that was just being in a massive metal and blacktop oven thing or not. I so don't want to burn my ass or hands no matter how beautiful my car is. lol Recommendations welcome. Glad to find the site. Thanks so much! Heather ![]() |

I don't know about prices - usually everything in California is inflated.
![]() The sound system in the base MDX is adequate, but only just. The SBP color gets pretty hot in the summer too, but it's not too bad once you're inside. Just be sure to leave a towel over the seat when you leave so the leather doesn't burn your legs when you get back. When we took delivery of our MDX, the dealer mentioned it was ok if we put in regular (87) gas. It retards the timing a bit, so the vehicle doesn't pull quite as hard. I haven't kept track if it gets any better gas mileage compared to 91. I average about 19mpg on the highway with the MDX and 13mpg in the city.
