00' RL Rear Brake Caliper
I'm brand new to the forums so I don't know if this is going in the right place. I had new brake pads put on my RL 1500 miles ago and now the rear passenger side caliper is stuck and destroying my rotor. Luckily I have my old legend to drive until I get the problem fixed. I need to save money so I am trying to do it myself. Where can I find a cheap loaded caliper that I can just bleed and bolt on? How about instructions?

Caliper installs as they go are generally the same from vehicle to vehicle regardless of the brake setup. In the old days of the genesis of rear disc brake setups, the caliper piston would twist when turned in, as the emergency brake setup worked off the caliper itself. With the RL, and most modern cars, there are a set of shoes on the inside of the drum that take care of the e-brake.
The Acura factory remans run about $130.00, the best advice for pricing aftermarket, is to simply shop around ![]()

Thanks. I found a new caliper for $75 after core exchange. I also found cross drilled/ slotted rotors with a lifetime warranty. With Hawk pads it will all cost me about $225 and an afternoon of work to upgrade the rear brakes on my RL.
