05 MDX TPMS light issue (TSB 05-023)

I have an 05 MDX (60000 miles) with the TPMS light coming on intermittently (note this is the 'TPMS' indicator light itself, not the tire lights). There is no consistency to it, tire pressures are fine. If it's on and I turn the car off and back on it will go off and may come back on an hour later or 10 days later. I saw TSB 05-023 which sounds like it may describe the problem, but when I called my local dealer they said they won't do anything without the $109 diagnostic check.

IMHO if TPMS is working 90% of the time then I'd just assume ignore it, but if the TSB has any useful information in it on a) how to fix it and b) whether it's something serious and I really should get it fixed, I'd like to know.

Any help, advice, or redirects to threads with more info on this issue would be appreciated.

As far as seriousness, remember that it's just a reading, and it won't affect the actual operation of the vehicle itself.

A TSB is simply a set repair for something that occurs under a certain condition, it's different from a campaign or recall. Acura won't pay for the performance of a bulletin when the vehicle is out of warranty, unless, of course, you have an extended warranty contract.

A one hour diagnosis charge seems high, but it may be mandated if the problem exists due to a wiring or logic issue, rather than component failure.

I thought $109 seemed high too, which is why I wanted to see what the TSB said about the problem. If it's just a matter or resetting or recalibrating, I can see if my local shop can do it. Alternatively, if it's going to cost a lot to fix but isn't serious, I'll just ignore it.

One note - I found other TSBs on this site but not this one. If someone has the ability to post the TSB (05-023) or it's contents that would be great.

Of course if anyone has other ideas why the light would be coming on and how to fix it that would be great too.

I too am having the same problem. 2005 MDX. The TPMS light came on today and stayed on until the engine was shut off for a period of time. After driving again for a few minutes the light came on again. Pressure in all tires fine. Only TPMS light on, not indication of any particular tire. Any ideas?

Can you please post the remaining of the bulletin, I have similar problem (TPMS) light after a few minutes driving. I have check both fuses as suggested and they are both good.
