Unhappy Acura Dealer Broke my Power Steering - advice

Hi -

I have 2006 TL with 35K miles. This weekend I took the car to the Acura dealer to get new breaks and disk resurfacing. Dealer called me back a few hours later with bad news. Somehow they accidentally broke my power steering. Dealer claimed responsibility and fix. I will not get the car back for another week due to a back order of the power steering components.

I'm concerned with the long term effects on the car. Would they have to de-mount my suspension or other components for this fix? What kind of guarantees/perks should I ask for? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Bernard

im pretty sure they wont have to do anything to ur suspension, ive never had to touch suspension when taking off power steering.

also, do u know what they broke? maybe they just busted 1 of the fluid lines?

I wouldn't worry, personally. Seems as if your dealer stepped up to the pump and made the best of a bad situation. If they've got you in a loaner car in the interim, I'd relax and enjoy it....along with the knowledge that they seem to be a place of integrity.

They could have half-assed it together, but instead, owned up to the mistake, and have a plan in process for correction. That's a confidence builder in the business by any measure.

I havent heard anything of long term effects from broke power steering, so your probably ok.

Just to be safe..document everything. if any problem arises in the future because what the dealer did, this will help you in your case.
