Buzzing sound

I have an 06 TL: When I start the car i get a buzzing sound when turning the key to the second position. The car will not start i have to turn it back and try again. It will start and run no problem after that. The only dash lights that come on when this happnes is the green key and the TPMS(orange triangle). It doesn't happen all of the time nor at any particular time of day i.e cold mornings.

Any ideas what might be going on?

It sounds as if you might have something on the keyring that's blocking the transponder signal from the key.
