Clutch Problem
I own a 2005 TSX 6MT, and at times when I release the clutch pedal and apply gas, a horrible screaching noise comes from the engine bay. This is not the Clutch Pedal itself, I believe some people have had a "clicking" or "Creaking" noise coming from the pedal.. but this is definitely from the engine bay. It only happens once in a while, and if I really feather the clutch I can recreate the sound.
Anyhow, today I visited my local Acura dealer to have this checked. The technician could not create the sound during a test drive, so I took over and I was able to create the screaching sound a few times but he had no clue what it was. He "Guessed" that I needed a new clutch.. but i'm not going to replace an expensive part just because of a feeling. Also, they have never heard of this type of problem.. atleast the dealer I went to didn't.. Acura of North Toronto. Not sure quite what to do at this point.. might bring it to a more experience mechanic to see if they can resolve this issue. Anyone else have any feedback on this? |

I have the same problem (see earlier log entry to the forum). It only happens occasionally and the dealer has not been able to replicate the noise. It happens more often when the car engine is cold--and only when engaging the clutch (like you say feathering) while going into first gear. It never happens with higher gears. This has been happening well before the warranty expires and I want the dealer to repair it (if it requires a new cluthc) under the warranty. How about your warranty? Have you contacted the manufacturer?
