No cabin filter for 97 3.2 TL

Hi, I have a question.

There's odor coming from the air vent of my car. I use the deodorizer spray to the vent under the dash. The odor goes away for a few days then come back. I cannot replace the cabin filter since there is none.

Do I have any alternate? The odor definitely comes from the air vent, not from inside the car.

Thanks.
Peter.

You might just have to take out the whole assembly and physically clean it. However there are sponge things inside the air box where the air box comes out that catches nasty odors...Who knows !

Oh oh. This is something new to me. The whole thing looks quite solid under the wipers. I didn't think it's easy to take out the whole thing? Can you give me some hints?

When you say "air box", what exactly is that thing?

Thanks much. Really appreciate the input.

The odor is caused by bacteria, kill the bacteria, and you've killed the smell.

At one time, we used a hospital antiseptic called REP-70, but the Wurth stuff is much more available.
