Question rattling cat

Hello,
I have a really bad wiggle with my cat. I have aftermarket headers and exhaust system so I was wondering for when I replace the cat, I know it's bad, if there is something I can use to fasten it without punching through the floor. Any help would be appreciated with my 97 integra w Type R engine.

Fastening a catalytic converter to the floor, or for that matter any part of the body is a very bad idea. Anything that you could use to bolt it down would act as a source of heat transfer, similar to putting a spoon in a hot bowl of soup. If you try to bolt it to the floor, it will conduct heat up to the floor, and start your carpeting on fire.

The only thing that you might be able to do is to put in a ceramic insulator, but it's far too brittle, and it'd be gone in one good bump. Rubber bushings similar to the ones used to hold mufflers up won't work because the operating temperature of the converter is MUCH higher than the muffler.

My advice would be to get something custom fabricated at a good exhaust shop.
