Towing TL manual 4-down

Hello,

I just joined this forum and this is my first post.

I would like to find a safe and practical way to tow my 2006 TL with manual transmission 4 wheels down behind our motor coach. I really do not want to lug a dolly.

The answer I got from the NH dealer was that it cannot be towed this way. They would not provide an explanation beyond that.

I called Acura support directly and that was given pretty much the same answer.

I heard that 2005 models could be towed 4 down. Is this so and if so, what has changed in 2006?

Certainly I would expect to have to add some kind of transmission / drive wheel lube pump.

Its interesting that Blue Ox manufactures a towing base plate for the 2006 TL.

I sure would like to get some answers.

Thanks - Bill NH

There's really nothing that I can offer that is counter to Acura's recommendation in this regard unfortunately, and I don't have any first or even secondhand experience using a TL as a toad......

Tim,

I appreciate the response.

Is there any way you have access to the engineering people? Somebody must have the answer as to at least why we cannot tow this 2006 L manual 4-down. Perhaps someone would comment "off the record" what we can do to make it towable 4- down.

Thanks Bill

I just noticed, by the way, that you have a Wanderlodge. WONDERFUL machines.....much better than the Allegros that were more commonplace back that year. I remember dreaming over the blue and silver one featured in an RV mag back in '84

Thanks again.

The vintage Wonderlodge even today remains in a class by itself. I was fortunate to find one that was a-owner maintained with less than 75K on it.

We absolutely love it. check out Wanderlodge Motorhomes for sale VintageBirds Chapter FMCA -
It a great place to learn about these.

If you find a good one and like to tinker a bit they are a bargain!
