89 Legend LS Bose Rear Speakers

I am hoping someone can verify certain info about the Bose radio I have on my 89 LS.

Are the amp built in with the rear speakers?
What is that "inline" module at the rear speakers for? There is one for each speaker?
There are 4 connections to each of the rear speakers, what are their wiring setup?
Is there a way I can by-pass the rear amp?

THANK YOU...

Believe me....I've restored 2 LS Coupes.....send the Bose speakers back to Bose and they'll totally rebuild them for you.....new amps and cones.

The amps are built into the rear speakers ! You can bypass the amp if you want. I actually reversed that process when I recently restored an '89LS Coupe. I sent the speaker/amp back to Bose....soldered the speaker wires where they'd been bypassed...and replaced the aftermarket Kenwood head unit with a stock Bose unit. The car sounds great ! Check out my cars on Acura-legend.com...and then to the www.photobucket.com link and you'll see what I did ! thanks! ....John

I just bought a 90 Legend and was wondering if I can send the speakers back as well--do I have to be the original owner to do it? Thanks.
