89 legend stops running - Acura Forum

I have an 89 legend that periodically stops running. I'll either be driving down the road or stopped in traffic and the engin dies. It takes several tries at cranking it before it starts. Most of the time I have no problem starting it (starts on first crank). I replace the fuel pump last year.

Possible that the main relay is failing. They become heat sensitive and intermitantly fail or completely fail. It also controls power to the fuel pump. Located behind the dash; above the left driver's foot. One ten millimeter bolt to remove. It is a rectangular brown cube with wiring plug attached. Not expensive; someone here probably has one for you. They are available from the stealership, as well.

Sounds like the ignition switch is getting flakey.
