Clunking noise under hood
Hello there, I have "Honda Legend 90 coupe" that clunks when driving it, technically it often clunks between 20 - 50 km/h when slowing down suddenly eg. when you take your foot off the accelerator abruptly. This clunk sounds like when you have problems with the shifter that clunks when changing gears (Reverse - Drive or Drive - Revserse), but here it happens while driving and during decelleration. Other knowlege that I can add to this problem would be that my rotators clunk when jacked and turned from farthest left - right or farthest right - left, so there is some gap in driveline before it actually moves the vehicle. Only my right rotator spins when jacked and in "drive" gear. There is also a clunk when there is sudden accelleration (foot off and on suddenly on accellerator) at speeds 10-50 km/h. There is only about 2 inch lift of the engine when accelerated, so I dont thinks they are the engine mounts. I think it may the trany but whats funny is that when I accellerate normal (not fast or slow), they gears change without absolutely no hesitation, so thats what makes me confused about the clunk and think of as being some problem with driveline somewhere. Please do not forget the clunk under decelleration, I guess thats where the secret to answer lies.
Thanks
