oil level sensor - Acura Forum

whats up.
i have a question:
is the oil level sensor is just an on/off switch??
becuase i seen the wire on the sensor is blue on black. and since my new engine does'nt have it but the other end of my harness does.
so if i put the wire on the body will that trick the info center thinking the oil level is fine??
