93 legend radio

I am trying to fing out how I get the CD function to display on my 93 Acura. I bought a

IPOD Interface for the Legend and it only works when the funtion on the stereo goes to CD. My stereo shows Am and Fm, but not CD. IS there a way to make this work?

Is the only way to get the CD function to display is to add a CD player in the trunk?
Will that give me the function on the face panel of the radio?
