Brake Lights Out!

Hey guys,
I have a 91 Legend with two different security systems on the car. The problem is that the company security system was not disconnected when the viper security system was put in the car. But my main problem is that someone left something in my car and so I gave them the keys to get their stuff out of my car and the company security system is never used just the viper security system, so they unlocked my car with the viper system but then locked the car from the inside which activated the standard company security system. So the next time I used my car the standard company system went off and by time i figured our how to turn it off and got in my car to drive it I noticed that my brakes lights were out, so my question is how do I go about getting the brake lights to work myself or do i have to take it to a mechanic or the dealership? So any suggestions would be very helpful thanks.
